The Black Russian BM is one of the most iconic fuzz pedals ever produced, earning a permanent place on countless bass and guitar pedalboards. Manufactured between 1998 and 2000, these pedals developed a reputation for their massive low end and aggressive, wall-shaking fuzz. While not every original unit was exceptional, the best examples delivered a face-melting tone that players have been chasing ever since.

This recreation is built to capture the sound of those standout originals while improving long-term consistency and reliability. Premium-grade components are used throughout to preserve the signature character while minimizing the value drift common in vintage parts. Instead of traditional carbon composition resistors, stable metal film resistors are employed, and BC548C transistors are selected for their slightly higher gain compared to the BC547 transistors found in many original Black Russian units.
