The Gretsch G6134T-58 Vintage Select ’58 Penguin with Bigsby is a beautifully appointed Professional Collection solid-body electric guitar inspired by the iconic Gretsch instruments of the late 1950s and early 1960s. This model recreates the classic 1958 Penguin formula with a chambered mahogany body, arched laminated maple top, ebony fingerboard, gold sparkle binding, Bigsby vibrato and a pair of TV Jones Classic Filter’Tron pickups.

Finished in striking Vintage White gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, this Penguin combines unmistakable Gretsch aesthetics with highly articulate Filter’Tron tone. The chambered mahogany body allows air to resonate between the top and body, contributing to the lively response, harmonic richness and clarity associated with this design. The dual TV Jones Filter’Tron Classic pickups deliver the distinctive Gretsch character—clear, dynamic, punchy and articulate, with plenty of twang and harmonic detail.

The neck features a comfortable Standard "U" profile, 24.6" scale length and 12" radius ebony fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets. A bone nut, Pearloid Neo-Classic Thumbnail inlays and gold sparkle neck binding complete the vintage-inspired specification.

Hardware includes a Bigsby B3GB vibrato tailpiece, Gretsch Space Control bridge, Grover Imperial Die-Cast tuners and gold-finished hardware. The gold plexi pickguard with Gretsch logo, jeweled G-Arrow knobs and gold sparkle binding give this Penguin its unmistakable vintage Gretsch appearance.

The G6134T-58 features a matched pair of TV Jones Filter’Tron Classic pickups, faithfully capturing the articulate, dynamic character associated with vintage Gretsch Filter’Tron pickups.

The chambered mahogany body is an important part of the instrument's design, allowing the body and top to resonate while retaining the feel and response of a solid-body guitar. The result is a lively and articulate platform with the characteristic Gretsch combination of clarity, twang, punch and harmonic detail.

The three-position toggle provides:

• Position 1: Bridge pickup

• Position 2: Bridge + neck pickups

• Position 3: Neck pickup

Individual neck and bridge volume controls allow the two pickups to be blended and balanced, while the master volume provides overall level control. A 3-position tone switch provides additional tonal shaping.

Neck & Playability

The mahogany neck has Gretsch's Standard "U" profile, providing a traditional feel that suits both chord work and lead playing. The 24.6-inch scale length gives the guitar the shorter-scale feel associated with many classic Gretsch instruments.

The ebony fingerboard has a 12-inch radius and 22 medium-jumbo frets. Pearloid Neo-Classic Thumbnail inlays provide the signature Gretsch appearance, while the bone nut contributes to the traditional specification.

Vintage-Style Construction

This Vintage Select Penguin is built around a chambered mahogany body with an arched laminated maple top. The body is finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer and accented with elegant Gold Sparkle binding.

The Vintage White finish, gold hardware, gold plexi pickguard and jeweled G-Arrow knobs create a period-inspired appearance based on Gretsch's celebrated late-'50s Penguin designs.

Hardware

The guitar is equipped with a Bigsby B3GB vibrato tailpiece and Gretsch Space Control bridge. The bridge is pinned to its ebony base for consistent positioning, while Grover Imperial Die-Cast tuning machines provide the tuning hardware.

Gold-finished hardware is used throughout, including the bridge, Bigsby, tuners and other metal appointments.
