The Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk is a hybrid JFET/germanium boost pedal that offers a different approach to the world of boosts. Eschewing the idea of cloning another circuit, the Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk is an original design, single circuit hybrid booster. It is not transparent and not meant to be. It produces a nice sheen on the top end with some grit thrown in as well as a light emphasis on the high midrange with nice, round lows. A unique feature of the Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk is the reduction of the amount of level boost on tap. The total output has been slightly sacrificed in order to add more fine control of the boost level, eliminating the zero to melt-down effect some high volume boosters have. There's still plenty of level there if it's needed but Wren and Cuff felt it was more important to have better control than more gain. The Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk is a unique pedal with a fantastic tone that will push a tube amp into saturation with ease and please most any lead player.
