Bare Knuckle Blackguard Flat '50 Tele Pickup Set w/4-Way Switch Mod

Maximum quantity available reached.

Based on player requests for Telecaster® tones from specific eras and backed up by meticulous research, the Blackguard Tele® Series is a collection of four classic Tele® sets ranging from the original 'blackguard' Teles® of 1950 through to later 1968 models.

Scatter-wound by hand with 43AWG plain enamel wire on both bridge and neck, this is pure Broadcaster heaven. The hottest of the four sets with a thicker zinc plated steel baseplate, flat profile magnets and authentic vintage 'flat top' deep-drawn brass cover; the Flat 50s have a simply massive sound. Chunky bottom-end and snarling mids create a throaty tone with excellent natural sustain that can really push a tube amp hard.

Output: Vintage Hot
Bridge DC: 10.6K ohm *
Magnet: Alnico V
Neck DC: 6.8K ohm *

Blues, Country, Jazz, Funk, Indie, Pop, Britpop, Classic Rock.

The Flat '50 and Flat '52 set are well suited to maple boards or any application that requires extra output and a fatter tone.

This set features Bare Knuckle's optional 4-way mod which enables you to add a Fender 4-way selector switch if you want without having to modify the pickup. By adding a separate ground wire to the Tele neck cover it is possible to wire a Tele set to a 4 way switch which will give the additional option of both bridge and neck in "series" (as opposed to the standard "parallel" mid setting).

4 way switch settings are:
1. Bridge
2. Bridge and neck in parallel
3. Neck
4. Bridge and neck in series. This mod works the best on "stock" wound Telecaster® coils as opposed to RWRP.

(Note: 4-Way switches are sold separately)
