The Supro Tremo-Verb is Back!
A feature-rich update of a now-legendary late-'60s classic, the Supro 1622RT Tremo-Verb all-tube guitar combo amplifier is poised to launch your guitar tone into the stratosphere. Loaded with a small yet mighty Class A 6973 power section, the 1622RT pushes a muscular 25 watts through a custom-made 10" speaker, giving you an abundance of old-school Supro tone and enough volume to gig. You also get a killer power-tube tremolo and tube-driven spring reverb. Add vintage vibe to your collection with the Supro 1622RT Tremo-Verb combo amp.
Supro 1622RT Tremo-Verb Combo Guitar Amplifier at a Glance:
Vibe up your tone with killer reverb and tremolo effects
It doesn't get more old school than the awesome effects Supro loaded on the 1622RT Tremo-Verb combo guitar amp. When it comes to ambience, the 4-spring reverb pan delivers the tube-driven atmosphere that really fills out your sound with classic depth and dimension. Immediately following the reverb tank there's a power-tube tremolo circuit you can use to shake up your sound with an extra dose of warmth and wobble.
No off-the-shelf speakers for these vintage-style amps
Stock speakers simply wouldn't do for Supro amps such as the 1 x 10" 1622RT Tremo-Verb. That's why Supro teamed up with America's premier speaker manufacturer, Eminence, to develop a series of custom speakers that would bring the classic voice of these guitar amplifiers to life. This special Supro CR10 speaker starts off with an edge-wound voice coil and a ceramic magnet, which push an extremely lightweight and stiff paper cone. The result is a distinctly Jensen-esque tone with superb volume and exceptionally tight low end.
Supro - a brief history
Supro's roots can be traced back to the 1930s, when the National Resophonic and Dobro guitar companies merged to form a manufacturing entity called Valco. Valco manufactured Spanish acoustic guitars, metal-faced resonator guitars, and electric lap steel guitars under a variety of brand names, including Airline, Oahu, and National. They also designed amplifiers for several other companies such as Gretsch, Harmony, and Kay. It was during this time that Valco began producing guitars and amplifiers under the Supro name. Extremely popular amongst Southside Chicago blues musicians in the 1960s, Supro amplifiers proved equally popular with the British musicians who were influenced by them. By the late 1960s, notable guitarists ranging from Jimi Hendrix to Albert Lee to Jimmy Page were seen playing Supro amplifiers. Original Supro amps often sell for premium prices on the used market because of their legendary unique tone.
